Starkey Model 851 Laboratory Extruder
versatile, reliable, customizable

A small machine built to commercial production standards

Your extruder needs are unique.  Each Model 851 is built with this in mind.

In general, each 851 extruder is built as a  “turn-key” system, custom-made for each application.  We manufacture each system with your product in-mind, incorporating your specific need for horsepower, voltage, production rate, extruder orientation, and custom dies.

All contact surfaces are stainless steel.  We utilize several alloys to maximize the life of wear parts and minimize down-time.

A unique machine that we take pride in

Our Starkey Model 851 is a continuous vacuum extruder.  This means that as you feed your material into its extra-wide hopper, the Pugmill will continuously feed material from the hopper into our unique positive-displacement vacuum chamber where air is extracted.  Material is then extruded under high-pressure through a die.

The extruder head can be oriented for either vertical or horizontal output due to a innovative vacuum chamber design. This allows for up to 1,000 PSI die pressures at any orientation.

Stainless dual-shaft mixing tub

The 851 has an over-sized double shaft mixing tub.  Dual counter-rotating hardened shafts with mixing knives grab and chop material from the hopper.  Augers then force material into the de-airing section.

Dedicated control mobile panel

Each 851 Is designed with your needs in-mind, with a control station incorporating the features you require.  From this independent station the whole system can be operated, vacuum system controlled, and shaft speeds adjusted.
